Alcuin

Anael had been keeping an eye out for Alcuin without noticing him - until, of course, he spotted him with Hannibal, his attention drawn by the love radiating from the alcove. They were locked in a lover's embrace, for all that only one of them felt the warm sort of love Anael knew to recognise. There had been a flicker of something else for a second, coming from Hannibal, but it was gone as soon as it had sparked. It both warmed his heart and seeped cold into his bones, and he turned away to get another glass of wine from a passing waiter.

He had found Julie again in the crowd, and she was just telling him about this other party she was off to, and that he absolutely ought to come to. It was then that he spotted a flash of white in the crowd, making his way towards the exit, and he leaned in to kiss Julie's cheek, and gave her his warmest apologies, but there was a friend here that he had yet to catch, and she should make the most of her night. He would catch up with her if he could, but otherwise, she truly ought to seize the day.

Not that she needed him to tell her that.

He caught up with Alcuin, dressed in a white suit as Hannibal had described, the better to make him look... well, angelic, Anael supposed humans would call him. "Alcuin," he greeted him warmly, assuming that the mask on his features would not stop the young man from recognising him, as it had not stopped Hannibal. "Tell me you aren't on your way out already. I've been looking for you."

"Me, too." Alcuin's fingers stilled. "Is that okay?"

"Of course it is," Anael told him honestly, shifting his hand to tangle their fingers together again. "We don't have to do anything about it. Unless you want to?"

"Oh... I don't know, maybe... a little?" Alcuin tilted his head, lips poised for a kiss.

A little. Anael smiled, and slid his free hand to cradle Alcuin's jaw as he leaned in and kissed him, soft but not without desire - and love, as always. "As little or as much as you want," he told Alcuin after breaking the kiss.

It was a really nice kiss. "A little more of that, to start," he murmured, and kissed him again, sliding his hands around Hani's neck.

Anael readily complied, kissing Alcuin more leisurely now, taking his time, tongues slowly sliding together. Oh, but this was lovely, the easy warmth of it, like the perfect continuation to the poetry, so full of both love and desire.

Alcuin let out a little moan into the kiss, enjoying how leisurely and emotional it was. He barely knew Hani, and yet he felt like there was so much affection in this.

Anael drew Alcuin closer, humming happily into the kiss in answer to Alcuin's soft moan.

Wanting a better angle for the kiss, Alcuin climbed onto Hani's lap, straddling him.

A lot more of that, Anael thought, echoing Alcuin's earlier words. The book had fallen to the side, and Anael slid a hand under Alcuin's jacket, seeking to untuck his shirt from his trousers to get to skin. Once he had done so, and his hand rested in the small of Alcuin's back, he broke the kiss to smile happily up at the man. "I don't think I've even told you how much white suits you."

Alcuin made a soft little sound of approval when he felt Hani's hand on his skin. "I'm glad you think so," he said with a little smile, and then, a hand going to Hani's cheek, "Tell me what else pleases you."

"About you?" Anael asked, and turned his head to kiss Alcuin's palm. "Your warmth. How readily you love." He paused, lips twitching. "Your smiles."

Alcuin's smile warmed. "Oh... oh. Thank you." It wasn't exactly what he'd meant, but it was so nice to hear.

Anael smiled again, at the sight of that one on Alcuin's face, then leaned up for another kiss, fingers fanned wide on the small of his back.

Alcuin made a little whimpering sound and kissed him back, moving slightly on his lap. Friction.

That drew a sound from Anael, too, fed into the kiss without breaking it, only spurring it on, fueling it with a little more intensity, a little less leisure. He curled his fingers, nails brushing over Alcuin's skin, then stretched them again, his other hand on the side of Alcuin's neck, fingers lost in his hair.

"Hani," whispered Alcuin against his lips before kissing him again. He wanted, and wasn't thinking much of anything else.

Anael would much rather answer that whispered breath of his name with a kiss than with words, and he pushed up into it, the shift of his hips under Alcuin bound to leave no doubt that yes, he was feeling desire. He pushed his hand further into Alcuin's hair, the kiss growing increasingly more heated.

Alcuin let out another little whimper, and then brought his hands to the buttons of his own shirt and undid them with deft fingers, letting it fall back to the floor behind them.

Anael's hands immediately roamed over the bare skin, learning the shape of Alcuin's torso, fingers riding the rosary of his spine. He was only just growing aware of how many layers he was still wearing himself, although it still didn't occur to him that a man in so much tweed, and in these circumstances, would have long since grown too hot to be comfortable. He was too happy to lose himself in Alcuin for now, to be honest; his own clothes could wait a little longer.

Alcuin knew by now that it was up to him to take the lead in moving this forward if he desired. Funny how it had gone from him never having such a role to it being the norm.

Though he had to pause and think about how far he wanted this to go. There was desire here, yes, but did he truly want to fall right into bed with his friend at the first opportunity? Maybe he should just enjoy this first, the kissing and the touching and the warmth between them.

Besides, in a couple of hours Hannibal would be here, and if he brought Hani to his bed he would need to call him and tell him not to come.

As far as Anael was concerned, the warmth had been changing into proper heat, but not the urgent sort. He had meant it when he had told Alcuin, as little or as much as he wanted. He was more than content with what they were already sharing, with the emotions building between them. One of his hands traveled feather-light up his chest, while the other curled over Alcuin's hips, and if he broke the kiss, it was only to trail his lips along Alcuin's jaw and to his neck, kissing and nipping at the tender skin.

"Touch me," Alcuin whispered, wanting to feel more of Hani's hands on his skin, even as he bent his head to kiss Hani's neck. A little whimper of pleasure escaped him.

Hannibal left the party early in the end. He could have stayed much longer, and he would have had it not been for Alcuin. He enjoyed parties very much, and those he was the centre of attention of even more. But he couldn't help thinking Alcuin deserved a little extra attention tonight. He was quite and quietly patient with Hannibal after all. And Hannibal never missed an opportunity to exert influence and to enjoy Alcuin's sadness, which he did, as much as his happiness.

He let himself in, as agreed and thought to go to the bedroom when he heard a noise from the living room.

When he walked in, he saw him with his back turned to him, straddling someone, in a passionate embrace. For a moment he said nothing, and his face revealed nothing.

Anael had closed his eyes, a hand in Alcuin's hair, and he moaned softly when his friend's tongue found a particularly sensitive spot on his neck. His eyes fluttered open, and he frowned as they focused on the figure standing in the doorway - cold, cold Hannibal, his face an expressionless mask.

"Alcuin," he breathed out, shifting his hands to Alcuin's chest to push him back just enough for him to leave his neck alone. Once he had Alcuin's attention, he nodded in the direction of the doorway.
